Welcome to the home page for the Skylight Astronomical Society's participation in JPL's Saturn Observation Campaign.

This program, designed to engage the public in the wonder of Saturn exploration, is sponsored by NASA's Cassini-Huygens Mission.  The Cassini spacecraft will arrive at Saturn on July 1, 2004, where it will begin a 4-year tour of the Saturn system.

The goal of the Saturn Observation Campaign (SOC) is to link amateur astronomers and astronomy groups with youth groups, school, and the public in local communities.

We have put together a PowerPoint Presentation using the official NASA/JPL Cassini-Huygens slide set. To view this presentation CLICK HERE

The Skylight Astronomical Society (SAS) concentrates its activities in the town of Stow, Massachusetts, and in nearby communities such as Hudson, Sudbury, Berlin, Bolton and Maynard.

The SAS will coordinate several "star parties" during the course of a year, and has some experience in presenting to local school classes.  If you are interested in our programs for general amateur astronomy, please contact SAS at our website.

If you represent a local youth, school or community group, and would like to learn how you can participate with SAS in the Saturn Observation Campaign, please contact us at saturn@sasobservatory.org
